Blog Ettiquette

When somebody leaves a comment on one of your blog entries, what is the proper way to respond? Do you respond on your own blog and assume they'll come back and read it? Do you try to find their e-mail addy and respond that way? How does that work?!

  1. If they have a blog I will go "talk" back to them there IF they don't I will just comment in the comments..it has worked and I have "met" other moms that way.

Sometimes I will make a post about what the comment said if it was important.

So all that being said its up to you :)

  2. I was wondering about this too. Do I need to thank each person for leaving a comment on my blog? Especially if it's a nice one? My first thought was if they asked a question or said something that required a response, then I would email them, but then that would make me look rude/lazy to others that would read my comments and see this supposed unanswered question. If you figure it out, let me know!! lol

  4. I try and go to their blog and visit it. If they have been kind enough to leave a comment on my blog, it is nice to go read an entry on their blog and make a comment about it, and thank them for visiting.

Sometimes, it is hard to do that because of time contrants, but I *try*. :)

If your blog gets popular, I am not sure after that. ;-) I'll have to find out.

  6. with 4 years of blogging behind my back, you don't need to comment with each comment, only if it is a question, or statement you may want to add too.

I personally will check my comments and reply if necessary.
